Frater Schwartz is the author of six books on family therapy and pioneered Internal Family Systems therapy. He founded The Center for Self Leadership in 2000.
Before that he was associated with the Institute for Juvenile Research at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and more recently at The Family Institute at Northwestern University.
